hi! my name is emily. i’m a long-time paper planner and journaler, handletterer, and mom of two girls (10 & 12) who are now at the ages i was in the late 90s. i’m regularly battling against screen time with my kids… but i also catch myself doomscrolling on my own phone and then kicking myself for it. (the guilt is real, my friends.)

one day, i was reminiscing about my childhood in the 90s/early 00s and thinking about how much fun we used to have - without algorithms telling us what fun should be or how to have it.
this, in part, is why analog and whimsy exists.

i envision a community of people who have a shared appreciation for algorithm-free living. who limit their own screen time (or want to). who value pen and paper, handwritten letters, and community.
